When is the service?
|
How long is the service?
|
|
We have a service every Sunday morning, from 10am
|
Our services run for approximately an hour and a quarter, although most of us stay on longer for a tea or coffee and a chat after the service. We'd love for you to join us.
|
|
What should I expect at a Sunday Service?
Our services normally commence with live contemporary worship-in-song, along with prayer and Scripture readings. In common with other Churches of Christ, we also share a time of Communion each week, including a short reflection from a member of our congregation.
This is followed by engaging and practical teaching from the Bible, to help you better understand how to live out a faith in God. |
|
What should I wear?
We are a relaxed, safe and inviting community at Gisborne Church of Christ. There is no need to dust off the suit, come as you are in a casual outfit that allows you to feel comfortable.
Although it will be warm inside the church, remember that the Macedon Ranges can be chilly in the cooler months, so bring a jacket. Is there disability access?
Our church is easily accessible for those with disabilities. We have disability parking near the entrance and a wide, gently-sloping path to our front door. There are no steps or rises within the building and we have disabled bathroom facilities.

What about my kids?
We love families and children at our Church. Kids of all ages are welcome in our service; don't worry about the noise or mess. If you prefer, we also have a Parent's room/creche, where you go with your younger children, with space for your kids to play and live-streaming of the service to a large-screen TV. Finally, we have a large foyer with space for kids to run around and just be kids.
Our "King's Crew" program runs during the second half of the service. King's Crew is for school-aged children, from Prep through to Grade 6 and teaches children in an engaging way about the Bible, at a level suitable for them. |
|
Who will be looking after my kids?
Our King's Crew leaders love kids and love helping them to know Jesus and to enjoy coming to our services.
All our kids leaders have current Working with Children Checks and have up-to-date Child-safe training. In accordance with our Child Safety Policy, we ensure that there is always an adequate number of leaders in each session, and all children need to be signed in at the commencement of King's Crew and signed out at the end, by their parent or guardian. If it's your child's first time visiting, make sure to provide us with any relevant information about your child. |
What if I have older children?
Your high school-aged children are welcome to join us for the sermon; however, we also offer our "COFF" (Council of Faithful Fruit) program each fortnight, during the sermon time. This is for kids in years 6 to 9 and is designed to teach them essential biblical truths in an environment and format more targeted to younger people.
Make sure to enquire about our "Untitled Youth" youth group, which meets on Friday nights. Untitled Youth draws young people from across the region. Click here to learn more. |

and... Coffee?
We understand how important a good coffee is on a Sunday morning (well, any morning really) and we have a team ready to make you a coffee on arrival and after the service.
Our coffee, tea and morning tea station is right near the entrance to ensure you get what we know you need. Most visitors to our church remark on our post-service fellowship time as one of the highlights - good tea and coffee, a sweet treat or two, and great conversations with old and new friends! |
Looking forward to meeting you soon!
